Armando was born in Ensenada, Mexico, where he constantly tended to the needs of his family’s own pets while growing up. For him, animal care has always been a natural part of life! Armando has been caring for pets professionally since 1988, and is currently in the process of becoming a licensed veterinarian in the United States.
Armando graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California in 1988 to become a licensed veterinarian in Mexico, then began working at veterinary hospitals as a practicing veterinarian in Tijuana and as a Veterinary Technician in San Diego, California. He then worked at an avian and reptile hospital in North Park for several years until the owner retired; it was at this point that Armando decided to complete the process of becoming a veterinarian here in the U.S.!
Armando is particularly proud of co-founding the Latin American Veterinary Medical Association with members from several countries. He helped to form the group in 2000, and the organization is now nationally recognized and meets between four and six times a year.
